I had a Zoom catch-up with my old recruitment colleagues from 20 years ago and we talked about how recruitment has significantly changed over the years. Back then the process was registering a paper CV with one or more agencies and they would put you forward for any ‘jobs they had on their books’.

Fast forward 20 years and the digital age has revolutionised the process; candidates and employers now have access to a myriad of platforms to make contact. Various APPS, Linked-In, Social Media and Job Boards can, at times, provide a more direct route but they can also cloud the process and make it confusing for both – for a candidate who can easily be overwhelmed by the choice whilst an employer is inundated with applicants who do not fit their brief at all. This can be further exacerbated by unscrupulous recruiters cloning adverts in the hope of building their candidate database, cluttering the recruitment platforms even more!

There has never been more of a need for a ‘personal approach’ to recruitment to provide clarity and confidence in the process.
